(8/31) A hike in the mountain forest.
We had a more intimate view of the Beartooth Mountains by walking a streamside trail through a forest on the lower slopes.
In places, the trees were draped with moss-like lichens.
The stream descended noisily as it spilled over one rock after another.
The scene was embellished by wildflowers . . .
. . . colorful fruits . . .
. . . and lichen-decorated rocks.
